Students will learn to tie knots, identify parts of a boat, points of sail, sail trim, and simple navigation. In addition, they will learn to assist others, develop teambuilding skills, boost their self-confidence, and learn to treat their equipment and piers with respect. On bad weather days, the students will focus on water safety, knots, navigation, nautical terminology, and general seamanship skills. Classes will be held in all weather, fair or foul.

Four individual one-week-long sessions meet Monday–Friday mornings from 8:00–12:45.

A light lunch will be served to sailors every day from 12:15–12:45.
